Role : Managing staff & resources & ensuring safe, effective & professional quality care is provided
Duties :
• Clinical Leadership : taking ownership of the facility’s Philosophy of Care, motivating staff to provide quality service & ensuring effective communication & teamwork with staff, residents & families
• Ensuring standards of care meet the requirements of Health & Disability Sector Standards, Quality Health NZ & the facility’s requirements
• Liaising with the GM to ensure care staff are trained & supported to allow best clinical practice
• Ensuring residents & families are aware of their Rights & Responsibilities & these are maintained
• Occupancy Management of the facility & actively working with the Admissions Co-ordinator
• Ensuring Risk Management is conducted in a proactive manner to minimise undue exposure or clinical risk
• Financial : managing the assets & financial resources efficiently & effectively
• People Management : coaching, developing & motivating Care Staff & maintaining open & clear communication with HR Manager
• Quality : consistently facilitating the efficient management of systems whilst driving quality improvements
• Health & Safety : ensuring the requirements of the Health & Safety Employment Act & the facility’s policies are met
Requirements :
• Relevant tertiary qualifications, e.g. Registered Nurse
• Post graduate qualification in Management / Nursing, e.g. Business / Health Studies, Gerontology
• Recent experience in Care / Management in a care hospital facility
• Must have experience in general management skills (budgets, annual planning, staff management, managing rosters, etc)
• Strong management & administration skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong planning & organisational skills
• Computer literacy
