Our client is looking for experienced Theatre Nurses (more than 2 years) to work in their highly specialised, technically advanced environment collaborating with Surgeons, Anaesthetists, Technicians and Allied health professionals in comprehensive planning and assessment of the theatre patients needs.
Work Experience / Qualifications
• Current Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate.
• Overseas nurses need to comply to NZ Nursing Council's requirements for registration, amongst others you may need to pass an IELTS test with a score of 7 or higher (academic).
• Previous Perioperative experience is preferred however a comprehensive training programme is available.
Skills / Knowledge
• Knowledge of asepsis and infection control.
• Demonstrates a surgical conscience.
• Demonstrates a surgical conscience.
• Demonstrates the ability to fulfil the role of the Scrub nurse and Circulating nurse.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to being actively involved in quality processes including conducting quality audits within the area.
• Commitment to developing a professional portfolio or working towards same within 6 months of employment.
• Basic IV certificate to be completed within 3 months.

• Act vigilantly as a patient advocate.
• Shows interest in the work of the Perioperative Nurses’ College.
• Participates and accepts responsibility for delegated roles such as Infection Control, Health and Safety and Quality.
• Commitment to ongoing education.
• Supports the ACN within the speciality.
• Has the ability to act up as the ACN as appropriate.
