Minted for the 1990 150th Anniversary, only 3506 of these coins were minted (some coin sites incorrectly list the mintage as 10000, which was the maximum intended mintage)
This proof coin is 22 carat gold, 16.95 grams, 28mm in diameter and was minted by the Royal Australian Mint (on behalf of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand)
As many coin sites listing this coin don't actually have any in stock (and show out of date pricing), I've recently (late January) confirmed that an Australian dealer is selling one of these coins for AU$695 (over NZ$890 at the time of writing)
Another of these coins has recently sold in New Zealand for NZ$1000 while a dealer is selling this for $1100
